Monthly Discussion of Failure in Making (Dec 15, 8-9 PM ET):  Hi! We wanted to reach out to see if there are any educators interest in making and makerspaces. We are at the early stages of a research project investigating the following: (1) how failure in making is triggered and experienced by youth; (2) what role educators play in the process; and (3) what can be done to increase persistence and learning, rather than failure being an end-state. Given that those we’ve spoken with have a lot of strong feelings and experiences related to failure, we want to make sure to involve the larger community in the discussions and as a sounding board for our ideas as they develop. Last month we had a great discussion and hope to continue that this month when we talk with educators from school settings about the language they use and their experiences with failure and students in their settings.
